A constellation is a group of stars that, when seen from earth, form a pattern. There are 88 constellations, the largest of them being Hydra ( the water snake) which extends over 3.158% of the sky. Ursa major ( the great bear) is a constellation visible throughout the year in most of the northern hemisphere.
